Eating a vegan or vegetarian diet on the go: what restaurants can you eat at?

Are you wondering how it can be possible to eat a vegan diet when you are on a road trip? Or maybe you haven't had the chance to visit the grocery store to make dinner so you have decided to stop at one of these fast-food restaurants I have listed below. I reviewed each restaurant's menus to find what food items they serve that are vegan or vegetarian for you!

Items that are vegan at IHOP:

  • Avocado toast

  • Ask for the toast without butter

  • Crispy potato pancakes

  • Crispy breakfast potatoes

  • Salads without chicken or dressing

  • Ask for vinegar and oil; the balsamic dressing has egg yolk in it

  • Side choices

  • Broccoli florets, onion rings, rice & barley, seasoned fries, hashbrowns, grits, fresh fruit


Items that are vegan at Chili's:

  • Tostada chips and salsa

  • Fresh guacamole and chips

  • Fried pickles without ranch dressing

  • Side of corn on the cob

  • Caribbean salad without dressing

  • Citrus balsamic vinegarette dressing

  • Black beans

  • Mexican rice

  • Asparagus

  • Veggie sandwich

  • The bun contains milk & eggs

  • Grilled cheese (contains milk & eggs)

  • French fries

  • Frie sauce (contains eggs)


Items that are vegan at Chipotle:

  • Flour Tortilla

  • Sofritas

  • Cilantro and lime brown rice

  • Cilantro and lime white rice

  • Black beans

  • Pinto beans

  • Fajitas

  • Guacamole

  • Roasted chili corn salsa

  • Fresh tomato salsa

  • Romaine lettuce

  • White bread

  • Multigrain

  • Spinach wrap
